Michael Hunter Hutter is an American professional wrestler known by his stage name Ethan Carter III. He is currently contracted with Ring of Honor. He is best known for his tenure in Impact Wrestling and WWE, where he performed both under the stage name EC3 and before that Derrick Bateman. Hutter began his professional wrestling career in 2002, and began wrestling to promote Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2007. In 2009, he signed with WWE, where he competed as Derrick. Bateman. He was assigned to the Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's development territory, where he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship with Johnny Curtis. In addition, he competed in NXT's fourth and fifth seasons, a program where rookies were played against professionals. He left WWE in 2013, then signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He worked in the promotional role as Ethan Carter III, the nephew of the story about TNA's rightful owner, Dixie Carter.
