He is best known for his roles as Perry Cox in Scrubs, Bob Slydell in Office Space, Captain Hendrix in The Rock, Sergeant Red O'Neill in Oliver Stone's Platoon, Marv in Stone's Wall Street, FBI Agent Ben Harp in Point Break, and serial killer Edgler Foreman Vess in the Intensity TV miniseries, based on a novel by Dean Koontz. He has written and produced for television and film. In addition to acting, McGinley is also an author, board member and international spokesperson for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, and spokesperson for the National Down Syndrome Association.
