Thomas John Pope is an English professional footballer who is playing as the central striker for EFL League Two's Port Vale club. A graduate of the Crewe Alexandra Academy, he turned professional for the club in 2005 after making an impression at Biddulph Victoria in 2004-05. He was loaned to Conference North Lancaster City and Stafford Rangers in 2005–06, before going to Barrow, also to Conference North in 2006–07. He made his name to the Crewe's first team in 2007-08, before becoming the club's top scorer in the 2008-09 season with ten Ligue 1 goals. He became Rotherham United's record signing when he transferred £ 150,000 to the Yorkshire club in June 2009. He netted five goals in the 2009-10 campaign, before being loaned out to Port Vale. January 2011. The loan was granted. fixed during the 2011–12 season start. He scored 33 goals and was voted Ligue 2 Player of the Year, helping the club to advance out of Ligue 2 in the 2012-13 season.
