Aaron Edward Eckhart is an American actor. Born in Cupertino, California, Eckhart moved to the UK at the age of 13, when his father moved the family. A few years later, he began his acting career with school plays, before moving to Australia for his senior year of high school. He left high school before graduating, but graduated through an adult education course and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film. For most of the mid-1990s, he lived in New York City as a struggling and unemployed actor. While still a college student at BYU, Eckhart met director and screenwriter Neil LaBute, who invited him into some of his own original plays. Five years later, Eckhart appeared as a socially virtuous woman in the black comedy of LaBute In the Company of Men. Under the direction of LaBute, he has worked on films directed by Your Friends & Neighbors, Nurse Betty, Possession and The Core.
