Aaron Fotheringham is an extreme wheelchair athlete who performs tricks based on skateboarding and BMX. Although he had to use crutches early on, he has been in a wheelchair full time since he was 8 years old. He'll watch his brother ride BMX at the skate park, and one day his brother tells him he should try to get on his chair in the park, an event where Fotheringham said, "One day my brother was like, this is great if you put the chair down, would you like to try it? "" My dad was there and he supported me, so they helped me get my chair. I climbed on a four foot pipe, then I fell and I fell. Several times, then, finally, I left one of them. Aaron then noted that “I did that, and I was hooked.” Fotheringham used a custom WCMX wheelchair designed by Box Wheelchairs, which is both light and has a four-wheel suspension
