Adam Arkin is an American actor, television, film, and theater director. He is known as Aaron Shutt in Chicago Hope. He has been nominated for numerous awards including the Tony Award as well as three Emmy Awards, four SAGs, and DGA Awards. In 2002, Arkin won the Day Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in my Louisiana Skies Children Special. He is also one of three actors to play Dale "The Whale" Biederbeck on Monk. Between 2007 and 2009, he starred in the NBC drama series Life. Starting in 1990, he had a cameo on the Northern Exposure show playing the angry paranoid Adam, who received an Emmy nomination. In 2009, he played the antagonist Ethan Zobelle, a white breakaway gang leader, in the original FX Sons of Anarchy series. His father, Alan Arkin, and his brother, Matthew, are also actors.
