Figure skater who made history as the first female Russian to win an Olympic gold medal. In 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2014, she won Russian national championships.
Adelina Dmitriyevna Sotnikova is a retired Russian figure skater. She is 2014 Olympic champion, two-time European silver medalist, two-time Rostelecom Cup bronze medalist and four-time Russian national champion. At the junior level, she is the 2012 Young Olympics silver medalist, the 2011 Youth World Champion, the 2010 Youth Grand Prix Final Champion and the 2009 Russian National Youth Championship. Sotnikova stopped playing after the 2015-2016 season. She announced her retirement on March 1, 2020
