She is known for her roles as Lettie Mae Thornton in the HBO horror series True Blood, Kendra James in the HBO TV series The Newsroom, and Indra in the sci-fi drama CW The 100. She gets more recognition for his roles as Sally Freeman, Lee Harris, Beverly Hope and Dinah Stevens in the first, sixth, seventh and eighth seasons of the FX American Horror Story anthology series. Porter began his acting career by appearing on the Off-Broadway stage, winning the 1996 Obie Award for Venus. She made her debut on Broadway in the 2001 revival of The Women. For her work in American Horror Story, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy and two Saturn Awards.
