Romanian soccer player who was largely regarded as one of the best strikers in Serie A while playing for Chelsea, Juventus, and Fiorentina. He was named Romanian Footballer of the Year in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Adrian Mutu is a football coach and former Romanian footballer who currently manages the Romanian National Under-21 team. During his playing career he was deployed as an attacking midfielder or winger. Mutu started a two-year career for Argeș Pitești, where he scored a record 146 goals in 41 games and a half-season for Dinamo București, before joining Internazionale in Italy between 1999-2000 Serie A. After just ten appearances for the Nerazzurri he moved to Hellas Verona and then to Parma, where he scored 39 goals over the next three years. His stellar form earned him a € 22.5million transfer to Chelsea and a Ballon d'Or nomination in 2003. After an unsuccessful drug test, he was released and returned. After the 2006 Italian football scandal and Juventus' relegation to Serie B, Mutu decided to join Fiorentina, where he played regularly for the next five years.
