Aiko Melendez is a Filipino actress and former politician. His father, Jimmy Melendez, is an actor. Her half brother, Jam Melendez, also entered the show business. Aiko Melendez started her career as a child star in the early 80's with the movie Regal Films Among Them, Santa Claus came to town in 1982, and she was simply introduced as Aiko. In the late '80s, the same outfit in the film made her debut with Ruffa Gutierrez and Carmina Villaroel as teenage actresses. From the late 1980s to the 1990s, she became the heroine of blockbuster films by great actors like Richard Gomez, Jomari Yllana and Aga Muhlach. She received several awards for May Minamahal in 1993 and Sa 'yo Lamang in 1995. Her 1997 film, Kahit Kailan, received several awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival. Film produced by Lily Monteverde. In the late 2000s, she starred in television shows. In 2017, she received much acclaim for her work in Wildflower, a television soap opera airing during golden hour.
