Albert Arnold Gore Jr is an American politician and environmentalist who served as the 45th Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. Gore was Bill Clinton's companion in their successful campaign in 1992 and the couple were re-elected in 1996. At the end of Clinton's second term, Gore was selected as the Democratic candidate for the 2000 presidential election, but lost in a very close race following the Florida recount. After his presidency ended in 2001, Gore still stands out as an author and environmental activist whose work in combating climate change earned him the Nobel Peace Prize. 2007. In 2008, Gore won the Dan David Award for Social Responsibility. Gore has been elected for 24 years. He was a representative of Tennessee and from 1985 to 1993 was a senator for that state. He was Vice President in the Clinton administration from 1993 to 2001 .
