After being taken 15th overall in the NBA Draft in 2004, he began his career with the Boston Celtics. He went on to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets, and Indiana Pacers after three seasons in Boston.

Al Ricardo Jefferson is a former professional basketball player from America. He was an All-American high school student for Prentiss High School in Mississippi before failing college to compete in the 2004 NBA season where he won 15th place final by the Boston Celtics. He played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers, winning the third NBA teammate title in 2014 with the Hornets.
