Alexis Taylor is an English musician, known as the lead singer and keyboard / guitarist for the group Hot Chip. He's also a keyboard player in About Group and a solo artist. Taylor founded Hot Chip with Joe Goddard when he was at Elliot High School, Putney, London. Her father is a teacher and her mother is Greek. He studied English at Jesus College, Cambridge from 1999 to 2002, during which time Hot Chip performed concerts in concert halls in Cambridge. In 2007, Taylor and Hot Chip produced a two-song album, Doubleshaw, titled Booji Boy High under the pseudonyms Georgios Panayiotou and Mother Markzbow. The name Booji Boy is derived from the character created by Devo. After releasing Hot Chip's second album, The Warning, Taylor released her first solo album, Rubbed Out, in 2008. That same year, he formed the impromptu About Group quartet with Spring Heel Jack's John Coxon, pianist Pat Thomas and former This Heat drummer Charles Hayward.
