American junior tennis player who rose to prominence after finishing runner-up in the 2016 Junior French Open, the first American to reach the finals since 2002.
Amanda Anisimova is an American professional tennis player. She is the third youngest tennis player to be ranked in the top 100 by the Women's Tennis Association and has a career high rank of 21 in the world. Anisimova won her first WTA title at the Copa Colsanitas in April 2019 at the age of 17. With her father Konstantin as a longtime coach and her sister also a successful tennis player, Anisimova started playing tennis at a young age. Her parents decided to move to Florida when Anisimova was very young to give their children a better chance to practice. When she was a junior, Anisimova was ranked No. 2 in the world. She won the 2017 US Open women's singles title, along with two other A-list titles. She also became the first American to reach the final of the Roland-Garros women's singles tournament after 14 years. In the professional tournament, Anisimova beat an opponent in the top 150 before she turned 15. She won her first ITF Professional Tour title less than a year later.
