Student of the Year 2 is an Indian 2019 Indian romantic teen drama drama written by Arshad Sayed, directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions, with Fox Star Studios as distributor and co-producer. Following Student of the Year 2012, it stars Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday, along with Aditya Seal and Harsh Beniwal in supporting roles. It follows Rohan Sachdev, a student seeking to become Student of the Year. Critics and the public heavily criticized, the film reached 6% on Rotten Tomatoes. Year 2 students were announced in October 2017. Initially, Malhotra and Shroff will be collaborating on another film; when they found that the final script was unsatisfactory, they edited it and planned a sequel.
