Andrew Demese Gillum is a former American politician who served as the 126th mayor of Tallahassee. He was Tallahassee City Commissioner from 2003 to 2014, first elected at the age of 23. including former US Representative Gwen Graham and former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine. He competed and lost to Republican US Senator Ron DeSantis in a close election. Gillum is considered a progressive Democrat.
