About Andy Roddick
From 2003 to 2009, he was a professional tennis player who won the US Open in 2003 and reached the finals of three Wimbledon tournaments. He also had four appearances in the Australian Open semi-finals. In 2015, he was hired by the BBC to commentate on the Wimbledon Championships.
Andrew Stephen Roddick is the former US No. 1 professional tennis player. Roddick rose to world No. 1 shortly after winning the 2003 US Open title, beating Roland Garros champion Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final. Despite a few years as one of the best players in the world, the 2003 US Open title will remain his only Grand Slam victory. In March 2021, he was the most recent North American male tennis player to win a single Grand Slam, the most recent highest ranking and the most recent World No.1 at the end of the year. Roddick reached four more Grand Slam finals, each time losing to his arched foe, Roger Federer. Roddick has been ranked in the year-end top 10 for 9 consecutive years and won 5 Masters Series titles during that time. He is married to Brooklyn Decker, a model and swimwear actor. On August 30, 2012, during the 2012 US Open and on his 30th birthday, Roddick announced that he would be retiring after the tournament.
