Aneesh Paul Chopra is an American executive who was the first CTO of the United States. He was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009 and served in the White House until 2012. Chopra previously served as Virginia's technology secretary under Governor Tim Kaine. Chopra was a 2013 candidate for the Democratic nomination for Virginia governor's office. He is the author of the book Inno Innovation State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government, co-founder and chairman of CareJourney. In 2015, he joined the Albright Stonebridge Group as a Senior Advisor.
