Angela May Rippon is an English journalist, journalist, writer and television presenter. Rippon presented radio and television news programs in the South West of England before moving to BBC One's Nine O'Clock News, becoming a regular host in 1975. She was the first woman regular reporter. British television news host after Barbara Mandell on Independent Television News in 1955. Rippon appeared on Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show in 1976, performing two first series of Top Gear and also presenting Come Dancing. She organized the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977. She was the host and co-founder of the breakfast television brand TV-am. During the 1990s, she turned to radio, presenting daily news programs for LBC Newstalk between 1990 and 1994, and appearing on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast as an alternative news reader. .
