Anja Nissen, sometimes simply referred to as Anja, is an Australian-Danish singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor. She is the winner of the third series of The Voice Australia. After winning, Nissen signed with Universal Music Group and listed her influences as Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton and Stevie Wonder. In 2015, Nissen was a supporter for Olly Murs on his Australia Never Been Better tour. In 2016, Nissen participated in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2016 competition, Denmark's national final round for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song "Never Alone". She came in second with 36% of the vote. In 2017, Nissen competed for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017 with the song "Where I Am", which she co-composed.
