Anne Fine, OBE, FRSL is an English writer. Although best known for her children's books, she also writes for adults. She is a member of the Royal Literature Association and was named OBE in 2003. Fine has written over 70 children's books, including two annual Carnegie Medal winners and three individuals. For some of those five books, she also won the Guardian Award, a Smarties Award, two Whitbread Awards and was twice children's author of the year. For her contributions as a children's writer, Fine reached the final round of the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1998. From 2001 to 2003, she was the UK Children's Prize Winner. the second time.
