About Anze Kopitar
NHL center who led the Los Angeles Kings to Stanley Cup victories in 2012 and 2014, leading the team in points and assists during the latter's run. He was named the NHL's finest two-way forward in 2016, winning the Selke Trophy.
Anže Kopitar is a Slovenian professional ice hockey center and captain of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. Selected 11th overall in the 2005 NHL Draft, Kopitar became the first Slovenian player to play in the NHL on his 2006 debut. Kopitar has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings and led the team to score in all but two. season and fourth in franchise history in terms of points, goals and assists. After the 2015-16 season, he was named captain of kings. Noted for his offensive and defensive style of play, Kopitar received the Frank J. Award. Selke Trophy is NHL's best defensive striker in 2016, as well as the Lady Byng Memorial Cup for men playing the same year. He won his second Selke Trophy in 2018. Kopitar played junior level hockey for his hometown team HK Acroni Jesenice before moving to Sweden at the age of 16 to play in a more competitive league.
