Arsène Charles Ernest Wenger is a former French coach and soccer player. He is currently FIFA's Head of Global Football Development. He was Arsenal manager from 1996 to 2018, where he served the longest and most successful in club history. His contributions to English football through changes in scouting, player training and a diet revived Arsenal and contributed to the globalization of sport in the 21st century; in Strasbourg and raised in Duttlenheim in a family of businessmen , Wenger was introduced to football by his father, the manager of the local football team. After a modest competitive career, in which he played for several amateur clubs, Wenger graduated as a coach in 1981. After a period of unsuccessful streak at Nancy, he culminated in a unloaded fall in 1987, Wenger joined Monaco ; the club won the league championship in 1988.
