Ashima Shiraishi is an American climber. Shiraishi began climbing at the age of 6 at Rat Rock in Central Park, with her father. Just a few years later, she quickly established herself as one of the best female climbers in the world, and was rated by everyone as the best teen climber regardless of her gender. Her many awards include first place in international competitions and a number of first and younger female. Shiraishi appeared in a number of documentary-style shorts and was the subject of the short documentary "Return to the Red". The New York Times called it a "block phenomenon". Outside magazine describes her as a "young crush". And New Yorkers call him "a granite gretzky." At the age of 13, she became the second and youngest woman to climb a sports path with a difficulty score of 5.14d / 5.15a.
