Ashton James Eaton is a retired and two-time Olympic champion athlete who holds the world record in indoor coordination. Eaton is the second worst athlete to pass the 9,000 mark in ten triathlons, with 9,039 points he improved on August 29, 2015, when he broke his own world record with score 9,045 points. His world record was broken by French Kévin Mayer on September 16, 2018 for a total of 9126 points, who became the third person to pass the 9000 point mark. He played for the Oregon Track Club Elite team based in Eugene, Oregon. In college, Eaton competed for the University of Oregon, where he was a five-time NCAA champion, and won the Bowerman Prize in 2010.
