About Asser Yassin

Egyptian actor best known for his role in the 2008 thriller Zay El Naharda, in which he received critical praise. Since then, he's starred in films including Messages from the Sea (2010) and Rags & Tatters (2013).

Asser Ashraf Fouad Yassin is an Egyptian actor, writer and film producer. He received the award for best actor for a number of his works. Yassin started his career at the theater at the American University in Cairo and was spotted by director Khairy Beshara for his first televised role in Qalb Habiba in 2006, followed by the 2007 blockbuster The Yacoubian Building His first major film was Zay El Naharda where he was praised for playing a supportive role, playing a drug addict. That same year, Yassin starred in the movie "El Waad" a.k.a. The Promise, against legendary actor and superstar Mahmoud Yassin. In 2010, Yassin starred in Daoud Abdel Sayed's film Message from the Sea, for which he received the Best Actor Award at the Carthage Film Festival and the Malmö Arab Film Festival. He also received the award for best actor by the Tetouan International Mediterranean Film Festival for his latest film Aswar El Qamar.
