About Austin Rivers
After playing one season of collegiate basketball at Duke University, he was drafted 10th overall by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2012 NBA Draft. In 2015, he was moved to the Los Angeles Clippers, where his father, Doc Rivers, became his coach.
Austin James Rivers is an American professional basketball player who last played for the National Basketball Association's New York Knicks. Rivers led Winter Park High School in a row to win the 6A Florida State Championship in 2010 and 2011. He also played at the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit for the US team and is an all-US function of McDonald's. He was one of the best high school basketball players in his class in 2011. On September 30, 2010, Rivers made a commitment to enroll at Duke University. Rivers gained recognition across the country after playing a 3-point game against rival Duke North Carolina in 2012. He was included in the New Orleans Hornets' tenth pick list in the NBA Draft, playing there three seasons before being transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers. After three years with the Clippers, he was traded to the Wizards in June 2018. In December 2018, he joined the Houston Rockets.
