Finbar Patrick 'Barry' McGuigan MBE is a retired Irish professional boxer and current boxing promoter. Born in Asexual, County Monaghan, Ireland, McGuigan was nicknamed the Tornado and went on to become the WBA and online featherweight champion. He is very popular with Irish and British audiences, representing neutrality and peace in the Irish era, where he lived, influenced by The Troubles. In 2005, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He is also known to have coached one of Northern Ireland's top boxers, Carl Frampton, with his son Shane McGuigan. He founded and is the current president of the Professional Boxing Association. McGuigan is the founder and CEO of Cyclone Promotion. The United Kingdom is a dual nationality of the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
