In 1998, he became the inaugural coach of the Nashville Predators, and he helped the team evolve into a competitive organization. He won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018 and is a two-time winner of the Jack Adams Award, which is given to the league's best coach.
Barry Trotz is a professional Canadian ice hockey trainer for the New York Islanders National Hockey Federation. He is also the former head coach of Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals. As the NHL coach, he is third of all time in wins, behind only Scotty Bowman and Joel Quenneville. He is often called by fans and gamers "Trotzy" or "Eggman". Previously, he coached the Baltimore Skipjacks and the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, with whom he won the AHL Championship in 1994. That same year, he won the Louis AR Pieri Memorial Award, awarded to the Outstanding AHL Coach by AHL Broadcasters and Writers On February 20, 2013, Lindy Ruff was sacked by the Buffalo Sabers, making Trotz the longest-serving head coach in the NHL. He is also the second-longest-serving coach in North America's four major professional leagues, behind only the San Antonio Spurs National Basketball Association Gregg Popovich.
