Bernard Sumner is an English musician, composer, singer, guitarist, keyboardist and record producer. He is a founding member of the Joy Division and New Order groups. Sumner founded New Order with Peter Hook and Stephen Morris, former Joy Division in 1980 and became the main synthesizer protagonist in electric, then rave-techno dance music. He is considered a pioneer in the fields of electronic music, post-punk and techno.
