William Pullman is an American actor. After earning a master's degree in theater and fine arts, Pullman worked as an assistant professor at Montana State University before deciding to become an actor. He made his debut in the 1986 film Ruthless People, then starred in films such as Spaceballs, The Accidental Tourist, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping, Casper, Independence Day, Lost Highway, and Lake. Placid. He made regular appearances on television, usually in dramas, although by the 2000s he also appeared in small dramas and occasional series, most notably in 1600 Penn and The Sinner. Pullman has also had a long acting career and has appeared on Broadway several times, including The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? Edward Albee? in 2002.
