Billy Eugene Self Jr. is an American basketball coach. He was the head coach of men's basketball at the University of Kansas, a position he has held since 2003. During his 18 seasons as head coach, he led Jayhawks to 15 Big Regular Season 12 championships, including a record 14 NCAA Big championship 12 consecutive regular season. He also led Jayhawks to three appearances in the NCAA finals and the 2008 NCAA Championship. Introduced himself to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. At the end of the 2020–21 season, he himself had the 19th most number of wins against a Division I coach in NCAA history and 6th among The head coaches are active. He was the second most successful coach in Kansas history, behind only the Hall of Famer Phog Allen. As a Kansas coach, Self scored 277–15 at historic Allen Fieldhouse. During his tenure at Kansas, Self had 3 home wins with more than 30 wins, including a school record and the all-time 69th best game record of all time.
