William Frederick Gibbons is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the American rock band ZZ Top. He started his career in Moving Sidewlies, which recorded Flash and opened up 4 days to the Jimi Hendrix experience. Gibbons founded ZZ Top in late 1969 and released ZZ Top's debut album in early 1971. He is also known as Reverend Billy F. Gibbons. Gibbons has appeared alongside other artists and starred in TV shows, most notably Bones. He is ranked 32nd on Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists of All Time list 2011.
