Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, known by his stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, singer, actor and businessman. He is currently a Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County Constituency in Eastern Wakiso County, Central Uganda. He also heads the National Unity Platform political party. In June 2019, he announced his candidacy for Uganda's 2021 presidential election. He took part in the 2021 election, where incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was announced as the winner, resulting in Kyagulanyi and the majority of the public strongly objected. Kyagulanyi was born at the Nkozi Hospital, where his deceased mother worked. He grew up in the slums of Kamwokya, northeast of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Kyagulanyi attended Kitante Hill School, where he obtained his Uganda Education Certificate in 1996, as well as Kololo High School, where he obtained his Uganda Advanced Education Diploma in 1998
