Manute Bol, the son of former NBA player Manute Bol, is a 7'2" center. As early as his freshman year of high school, he was attracting notice as a top basketball prospect. Before declaring for the NBA, he played one year of college basketball at the University of Oregon. The Miami Heat selected him 44th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, and subsequently transferred his rights to the Denver Nuggets.

Son of basketball player Manute Bol, Bol was born in Khartoum, Sudan, but began living in Kansas at an early age. In high school, Bol was considered one of the best-in-class players of 2018, once ranked as a five-star player by consensus and won the McDonald's All-American title. He is one of the tallest players in the NBA. Bol began his high school career at Blue Valley Northwest High School, where he was assigned to the middle school team. He transferred to Bishop Miege High School in mid-season, but remained in college due to transfer rules. He joined his sophomore college. As a high school student, he transferred to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, identifying himself as a rookie.
