Bonnie Kathleen Blair is a retired American speed skater. She was one of the best figure skating athletes of her time and one of the most beautifully decorated athletes in Olympic history. Blair competed for the United States in four Olympics, winning five gold and one bronze. Blair made her Olympic debut in Sarajevo in 1984, where she finished eighth in the 500 meters. At that time, Blair was training in short and long distance speed skating. She won the World Short Run World Championship in 1986. Blair returned to the Olympics in 1988 to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Here she won her first Olympic gold medal in the 500 meters and a bronze medal in the 1000 meters. Blair won two gold medals at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and his last two Olympic gold medals at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. Blair continued to play until 1995 when the World Championship was held in Milwaukee, finally retiring in March 1995 .
