William Earl "Bootsy" Collins is an American musician, singer and songwriter. Having emerged with James Brown in the early 1970s and then with Parliament-Funkadelic, Collins' low, humorous vocals made him one of the leading names in funk. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, introduced in 1997 alongside 15 other members of Congress-Funkadelic.
