Brent Burns is a Canadian professional ice hockey goalie and replacement captain for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Paid as a right winger in the 2003 NHL Draft by Minnesota Wild, he was transformed into a defenseman when he moved to pro play. Burns is known as a dynamic attacking player, and although he has mainly played in a defensive position, he has been used as a striker throughout his career.
