Bret Michael Sychak, known by the stage name Bret Michaels, is an American singer-songwriter, songwriter, producer and actor. He emerged as the leader of the rock band Poison, which has sold more than 45 million records worldwide and 15 million records in the United States alone. The group also ranked 10 singles on the Top 40 Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and a number one single, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." In addition to his leadership career, he also has a number of solo albums in recognition of his merit, including the soundtrack to the 1998 film A Letter from Death Row in which Michaels plays, writes and directs, and an rock album, Songs of Life, 2003.
