Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, who is known by his credited stage name Burt Young, is an American actor, author and painter. He is perhaps best known for his work as Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law and best friend Paulie Pennino in the Rocky film series, in which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the first film. He has also appeared in Chinatown, The Gambler, The Killer Elite, Convoy, Uncle Joe Shannon, Once Upon a Time in America, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Back to School, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Mickey Blue Eyes, Transamerica, Win Win, Bottom of the 9th, Beckman and the documentary film Stallone: Frank, That Is and had a guest appearance on The Sopranos.
