Carol Jean Vorderman, MBE is an English media figure best known for co-hosting the game show Countdown for 26 years from 1982 to 2008, as a columnist and nominal author of educational and diet books, and the annual Pride of Britain Awards. She has written books on the detox diet. Vorderman's career began in 1982 when she joined the Channel 4 TV show Countdown. She appeared on the most recent show with Des O'Connor, and before that it was Des Lynam and before that Richard Whiteley. Vorderman left the show in 2008. While appearing on Countdown, Vorderman began hosting other shows for various broadcasters, including Better Homes and The Pride of Britain Awards for ITV, as well as shows. Cartoons like Have I Got. News for You, The Sunday Night. Project and Lorraine. Vorderman was a host of ITV Loose Women from 2011 - 2014.
