In the television industry, she is known for her lead roles as grieving mother Nora Durst in the HBO television series The Leftovers and as Gloria Burgle in the third season of the FX anthology series Fargo. She won the TCA Award for Personal Achievement in the Drama field for both performances and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Fargo. She also played a leading role in the second season of the crime drama series The Sinner. On stage, was Coon nominated for a Tony for her performance in Who's A Fear of Virginia Woolf?
