Cindy said Casey gave various explanations about Caylee's whereabouts before finally telling her she hadn't seen Caylee for weeks. Casey lied to detectives, telling them that Caylee was kidnapped by a nanny on June 9 and trying to find her, too scared to report to the authorities. She was charged with first-degree murder in October 2008 and pleaded not guilty. On December 11, 2008, a two-year-old Caylee's skeleton was found with a blanket in a laundry bag in a wooded area near the Anthony family's home.
