Yusuf Islam, known by the stage names Cat Stevens, Yusuf, and Yusuf / Cat Stevens, is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His musical styles included folk, pop, rock, and later Islamic music, before returning to secular music in 2006. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Rock and Roll 2014. His 1967 debut album and title track "Matthew and Son" both entered the UK top 10 charts. Stevens Tea's albums for Tillerman and Teaser and Firecat have been certified three platinum in the United States. His 1972 album Catch Bull at Four has been topping several major charts for several weeks. He won the ASCAP Composition Award in 2005 and 2006 for "The First Cut Is the Deepest", and the song became a hit by four artists. His other hit songs include "Father and Son", "Wild World", "Moonshadow", "Peace Train" and "Morning Has Broken". In December 1977, Stevens converted to Islam and took the name Yusuf Islam the following year.
