Charlie Cruz is one of the new stars of the salsa music line. His debut was well received by the Puerto Rican record industry. Born in 1975 in Puerto Rico, Cruz is the eldest of seven siblings. He lived his teenage years in Paterson, New Jersey, USA, where he loved salsa music. His models are the best examples of the Afro-Caribbean genre, such as Héctor Lavoe and Frankie Ruiz. Her musical career began singing in her father's choir, Fonzy Cruz, which recorded three records. In 1996, the young Cruz decides to settle in Puerto Rico to get closer to his family and his musical roots. In this way he got into the field of salsa, working for two years as an orchestral singer of Domingo Quiñones. At that time, he was taking singing and piano lessons. On the second CD as a solo artist, Cruz reaches the international market with the album Imaginate. With the WEA Latina label, the production was assisted by Sergio George, who directed and arranged.
