This Australian musician is most known for his chart-topping electronica album Built on Glass, released in 2014, although he also released a critically acclaimed EP titled Thinking in Textures in 2012. Drop the Game, another of his well-known 2013 singles, peaked at number one on the Australian indie music charts.
Nicholas James Murphy, known by his stage name Chet Faker, is an Australian singer and songwriter. In 2012, as Chet Faker, he released a feature length work, Thinking in Textures, and signed with Downtown Records in the United States. In October 2012, he won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award and Thinking in Textures won the Best Independent Single / EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards. In January 2013, the work won the award for best independent release at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards 2012. Murphy's cover for Blackstreet's "No Diggity" was featured in a 2013 Super Bowl ad for Beck's Sapphire. In April 2014, Built on Glass, her debut studio album, was released with positive reviews and topped Australia's ARIA charts. The three songs on the album were voted in the top 10 of Triple J's Top 100 Best Songs 2014, including number one for "Talk Is Cheap".
