She was later recognized for playing Jazmine Payne in Tyler Perry's House of Payne television series and as Charlotte McKenzie in Grown Ups; and internationally known for her role as Chyna Parks in the Disney Channel TV series A.N.T. Farm, and as Uma in Descendants 2 and Descendants 3. In 2018, McClain began starring in The CW's Black Lightning superhero series as Jennifer Pierce / Lightning.
