Women's basketball player who debuted in the WNBA with the Connecticut Sun in 2014, eventually becoming an All-Star and winning Rookie of the Year. She previously attended Stanford University, when she set a single-season rebounding record.
Chinenye "Chiney" Ogwumike is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. As of 2020, she becomes the first black woman to host a national radio program for ESPN, and the first WNBA player to do so. She is one of the first and youngest commentators to be named an NBA Analyst for a network that includes the NBA, WNBA and various sports, and plays at WNBA. Chiney is a graduate of Stanford University, majoring in international relations. She has played in all three finals and has finished as the conference leader in scoring and recovery since Jan. 3, 2014. As of 2016, Ogwumike was elected as the Association's Vice President. WNBA Player and a signed an endorsement agreement with Adidas. In May 2018, Ogwumike signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to become a full-time basketball analyst.
