Hero has worked for several independent wrestling commercials including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, Mid-South Independent Wrestling Association, Combat Zone Wrestling and Chikara, as well as Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan. The hero has made two WWE appearances, both within their NXT development territory, under the stage name Kassius Ohno. His second tenure with the company saw him working as a "player-coach" for interns at NXT and NXT UK. Over the years, Hero has partnered with Claudio Castagnoli, using the team name The Kings of Wrestling, winning various team championships and tournaments such as Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas, Tag World Grand Prix 2006, CZW World Tag Team Championship, JCW Tag Team Championship and ROH World Tag Team Championship.
