Christopher Eccleston is an English actor. Awarded an Emmy Award and nominated for two BAFTA awards, he is best known for his television and film productions, including his ninth role in the station's sci-fi series Doctor Who The BBC, plays Pastor Matt Jamison in The Leftovers and his collaborations with filmmakers Danny Boyle and Michael Winterbottom. Eccleston trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and performed professionally on stage in Bristol Old Vic's A Streetcar Named Desire. He was noted for his film roles like Derek Bentley in Let Him Have It and David Stevens in Shallow Grave, and television performances in Cracker and Hillsborough.
